I am a mentor for new graduates aiming to broaden their skills and experience in the creative media industry.
Stefanie Grewe:
“I felt positively inspired by your always ready and open disposition to explain, and to be patient. Not once a “later”, or “not now”! Or “this is not important”. What a good teacher! I shall remember your attitude when I have to explain something to somebody.”
Hannah Atkinson:
“I worked with Lee for four months when I volunteered at Windhorse Publications in 2011. It was immediately obvious to me that Lee has so many qualities of a great mentor, and I feel lucky to have had his support and guidance during this time – I know that I would not have learnt so much or have grown so much without his leadership. Lee was always patient with me, always positive, and always straightforward and clear about what he expected from me. He really was a pleasure to work with. But more than this, he pushed me and took me out of my comfort zone in order to improve on my weaknesses, at the same time as being appreciative and encouraging of my strengths. He gave me guidance when I needed it and the space and confidence to develop my own ideas independently as well. I hope that Lee will be able to use these leadership skills in the work he does in the future, because I am sure that those who work under him will only benefit greatly. “
Stacey Freeman:
“I’ve had a fantastic time with the Windhorse team, and have been given the opportunity to gain a wider understanding and knowledge of the publishing industry.”
Victoria Parrin:
“Working at Windhorse for the past three months has provided me with a fantastic insight into a small independent publishing house. It has been a truly memorable experience and I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to work here.”
